This is my first entry into my very first blog... so I suppose it will be fun to let you know a bit about me. I am a single Mom and I live in Seattle. My son is five and he rocks... My journey in life has been fun, interesting and always changing. Three years ago when I became a single Mom I wanted to stay home with my son still so I made some choices that were a bit unconventional. I lived off of savings while starting a home-based business... It was the best decision I have ever made...
You ask why... well I have learned so much from both my son and from creating and income from home. And this is perhaps where my experience may be helpful to you... at least that is my hope.
When I got started three years ago I thought it would be really easy... for some in my company it was... for me not at all.. Then I began to figure out it was so much about my own personal development. And that is when all the learning has come in and is still here.
My most important insight for creating income from home...
1. Take small steps everyday
2. Learn from those who have done it.
3. Trust yourself.
4. Recognize that you deserve to be successful ( among many other things as well!)
5. Find a simple system that you feel good about - that you can share with others.
6. Don't risk money you can't afford to lose... there are NO guarantees.
7. Team up with people you like.
8. Focus on what you WANT! this is a biggie...
Well eight is a great number so I will stop there...
Peace,
Michelle

Hi Michelle, thank you for your perspective. It comes at a time in my life in which I too am at some crossroads, and faced with taking the road less traveled and make my own paycheck... or work for someone else and have that feeling of "safety" knowing each week is payday - but at the same time giving up freedom.
The path I take will be revealed sooner than anyone thinks!
I look forward to reading your blog, the main topic you are covering is of high interest to not just me, but I am sure to many others who are caught in the rat race looking for a way out!
Thanks Chad... I appreciate your thoughts.
Trusting that which ever path we choose will teach us many things and remembering that life is an adventure. I feel much the same as you that freedom to be as we wish has so much value... Our time is really priceless, especially when it comes to being with those we love :)
